2nd Trimester Midterm
The midterm for the 2nd Trimester is Wednesday, January 21st. Your child’s midterm should have come home in this week’s Thursday folder. Please sign and return the sign-off sheet by the following Wednesday, January 28th.
Reading: We began our next reading story, Two Lands, One Heart. We have previewed the story and vocabulary words. Because this story is fairly long, please plan extra time for your child to read this story. Once again, we encourage the students to read the story orally with a family member.
Spelling: Lesson 14 focuses on spelling abbreviations such as Pres. and tsp. The student will need to capitalize the word correctly and have the period (if necessary) to spell the word correctly. Please spend a few minutes each day studying the words with your child.
Math: Mrs. Ketcham’s math group continue working on multiplying greater numbers. Mrs. Christensen’s math groups will begin the multiplication and division unit.
Please make sure and practice the multiplication facts with your child.
Montana Studies: Your child should know the headwater tributaries of the Missouri River. They should know these rivers: Big Hole, Beaverhead, Red Rock Creek, Ruby, Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin. We have sent home a map of these rivers locations.
Bumper Sticker: Part of your child’s weekly homework is the annual Ag in Montana School’s bumper sticker contest. The students have started their bumper stickers in class. Finishing the bumper sticker is optional; however, we must have the bumper stickers turned in next Wednesday. They must be turned into the County Supt. of Schools by Friday, Feb. 30th.
