Reading: The 4th graders will begin I Have Heard of a Land, a historical fiction story. The focus skills include word relationships and self-questioning. The 5th graders will begin Name This American, a play. Their focus skills include cause & effect and predicting. Literature circles have started. Ask your child which book he/she is reading.

Math: Mrs. A.’s math group is working on fraction concepts and division.  Mrs. C.’s math group continues with fraction concepts including comparing/ordering and adding and subtracting fractions with like and unlike denominators.

MT Rivers: The 4th graders have learned all of the Missouri River tributaries. They should be learning the following rivers: Yellowstone, Clarks Fork, Big Horn, Little Big Horn, Rosebud, Tongue, and Powder. They will have a quiz next Wednesday.

Field Trips: The 4th grade has their Cattlewomen’s field trip tomorrow. They do not need a lunch unless they don’t want to eat what is provided by the Cattlewomen (usually sloppy joes). The 5th grade has their float trip tomorrow. They do need to pack a lunch or get one from the school. Both groups should bring a water bottle and plenty of sun screen!

Science Expo: Don’t forget the Expo is this Friday. Students may set up as soon as they get to school. The presentation times are 10:00-11:00 and 12:30-1:30. Just a reminder: all 4/5 students must have a project.
