A huge congratulations to Choteau High School’s Kesston Thomas who was recently crowned as a NATIONAL CHAMPION in the javelin at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships on Saturday August 1st in Norwalk, California.
Some insights on his experience from his family:
It was 105 degrees… upon arrival we learned we couldn’t use personal throwing Implements… at check in Kesston had 10 minutes to change all of his spikes to 1/8th inch….This made the runway incredibly slick… with each throw he slid about 6inches…along with the javelins being very subpar. Kesston was far from pleased with the distances but none the less it was a great challenge for him to overcome these adversities.
